A Rural Dinning Hall

Bikrampur, Bangladesh

The project involved adding a dining hall to an existing rural homestead in Bikrapur. The new structure blends a contemporary aesthetic with traditional architectural forms. It celebrates local craftsmanship, techniques, and materials while achieving a timeless quality through its symmetrical geometric composition and minimalist design. The layout places the dining space at the center of the house, with service areas and two guest rooms positioned on either side of the central space. The large roof evokes the social status of the family, providing deep shading and shelter from both sun and rain. A wide bungalow-style veranda welcomes semi-outdoor activities.Â
